Devin Dixon banks $3,000 in Mike Peters Open triumph at Ocala Speedway

Veteran Racer Claims $3,000 Payday at Ocala Speedway

OCALA, Fla. (04/15/25) – Devin Dixon celebrated a triumphant return to the Big Frog Motorsports team over the weekend, capturing a $3,000 victory in Saturday night’s Mike Peters Open at Ocala Speedway aboard the Ocala Restaurant Supply / Viper Risk Management Group No. 58 Rocket Chassis Late Model.

The win marked their first trip to victory lane as a team since 2018, when the Apollo Beach, Florida native recorded the season opener at Golden Isles Speedway in early February.

“That was a blast,” Dixon said. “I originally planned to race my Modified tonight, but when Augie called and asked if I’d be interested in driving the 58, I didn’t hesitate. I’m glad I made that decision—the car was spot-on all night. It meant a lot to team up with Augie again. We’ve shared a lot of success over the years, and to grab a win together tonight makes it all the more special.”

Big Frog Motorsports kicked off its weekend on Saturday afternoon as Devin Dixon joined a 25-car field of Super Late Models at Ocala Speedway for the running of the annual Mike Peters Open.

Aboard the Capital Waste No. 58v entry, Dixon advanced into Saturday’s 30-lap main event with a runner-up outing in his heat race. Quickly moving towards the front of the pack from his third-starting position, Devin took the lead on lap 13 and led the rest of the way to capture the $3,000 payday.

Dixon finished 1.773 seconds ahead of runner-up Brenden Smith with Jason Garver rounding out the podium.
