Big Frog and Jimmy Owens open 2025 Southern Nationals with pair of Top-5 finishes
Kicking off their run at the 2025 title, Jimmy Owens and the Big Frog Motorsports team opened up the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series at Beckley Motor Speedway (Mount Hope, W.Va.).
Owens started 11th in the $10,053-to-win season opener and charged forward to round out the Top-5 in fifth. He trailed Ross Bailes, Chris Ferguson, Zack Dohm, and Luke Morey.
While dodging rain showers on Saturday, Owens was able to lay down a solid qualifying lap at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) and recorded another Top-5 finish in fourth behind Chris Madden, Chris Ferguson, and Garrett Smith.
